I am asking this commission to support an Escambia-style resolution and begin the process toward a full prohibition on hyperscale and large-scale data centers. Escambia County has already shown that Florida counties can act. They adopted Resolution 2026-71, identifying concerns involving extraordinary electrical capacity, water resources, wastewater, utility infrastructure, and comparatively few permanent jobs. They then enacted Ordinance 2026-30, expressly banning large-scale data centers. The time to establish policy is before a project is already underway. Please support bringing an Escambia-style resolution before this commission and begin the process toward a full prohibition on hyperscale and large-scale data centers. Thank you.
